89% of all actual Apple iPhone Users will stick to their smartphone brand a research from UBS Analysts says. Surprised by the fact that others device manufacturer such as Samsung will reach a roughly thirty-something percent? As long as you communicate with your customers in the old school way I guess not. You have to manage your communication differently. And be aware of your NPS or other measurement system.

I want myTV!
HD Plus, 3D, 4D, EPGs, Hybrid TV Internet Hardware, Hulu, Netflix, Google and Apple TV, YouTube with 200 new Channels, Time Shift and Advertising free channels? Every day a new announcement that probably changes our learned television behavior.
And the EU Commission is changing the legal environment, no more closed shops. Even on Soccer Rights Holding.
And where is the mobile app?
So many questions. So many answers.
Faster, lighter, more – and ubiquitous!
We are so close to the next level of connected life. Worldwide LTE (Long term evolution/4G) cellular networks will give us a lot more opportunities as of today and enable us to do more data intensive applications, even by multitasking. The future is wireless – no doubt. And no matter how much up- or downstream you need.
For sure you use your Ultrabook, Tablet-PC or Smartphone as well with the next level software and apps. No wonder: with intuitive touchscreens and user-orientated/centric operating systems. You organize yourself in a new way in the enterprise 2.0 as well as in your private environment. Via Evernote, Wunderlist, Dropbox and Dragon you are everytime available on duty. Dragon for instance is giving you the freedom to record your voicememos instantly and converting them directly into written text for usuage by email, Twitter, Facebook and more. Siri from Apple, feature of the brandnew iPhone 4S, goes a few steps further of this scenario by converting and understanding your textmemo, if you want to set appointments and more. The phone does exactly what you want it to do – the perfect companion.
Can you imagine the next landmarks in commerce, mobility, smarthome, learning and health? Let´s get ready. The future is bright.

Alea iacta est?
Deutsche Telekom launches Pageplace, MediaSaturn launches MYJUKE.COM, Toshiba launches PLACES. Looks like the industry don´t want to lead these markets any longer by Apple. Books & Newspapers/Magazines, Music, Smart Metering – whatever you suggest, the whole industry is playing hard nowadays. Competition everywhere. 3D TV, Tablets, Ultrabooks – greatest hardware to come for christmas sales. Lucky consumers we all are and a great race where the industry is in!

New world order?
After the announcement of Google to become “Googorola” and buying Motorola the whole ecosystem of this environment has to re-think their business models.
Today we received the information that HP is spinning-off it s PC division. Could this be the end of the vertical integration of HP Computers? Even though the “Googorola” deal forces the established marketplayers to do their homework. Fast, precise and complete. Watch out, you establishment and stay hungry!
P.S. Nowadays it reminds me a little bit like the time before the first iPhone was released to the public. Keep an eye on “Googorola”…

Smart. Phone?
From my point of view it is no rocket science to have success in the mobile device business.
First of all you need to have a good hardware piece. Beside that you have to have an Operating System. Doesn´t matter which one at the end as long it is running more or less fast and stable. No-Go in that case: if you supply very permanently kryptic error messages (e.g. such as WP7 does). After that you need to have a good design, which is far more beyond the european understanding of design – this is corely: a great graphical user interface (GUI). Last but not least you have to be the gatekeeper of your eco-system, which means the Apps, the Store, the Music/Archives, the Web-Interface etc. – keep it clean. In the end you offer a great user experience of your product – even if your eco-system isn´t that open as most of your developers wanted it!
Design Think!ng.
I can´t wait to watch the news from Cupertino on March, 2nd at 10.00 a.m. pacific time. When Apple is releasing news on the iPad2 as of it´s inspiring invitation text “Come see what 2011 will be the year of.” In Q3/2010 4.2 million out of 4.5 millions sold tablets have been iPad´s. BTW: I am just reading a great book about design thinking. From my point of view to some degree redefining old school innovation with their new step-by-step-methology: Understand -> Observe -> Point of view/Define -> Ideate -> Prototype -> Test. Great stuff to read for the weekend and hopefully a surprising week to come!
